Paraguay comparte esa posición con Chile según un estudio que se realiza todos los años por la Federación Internacional de Historia y Estadísticas del Fútbol (IFFHS). Paraguay ocupa el lugar 16 informo el organismo cuya sede queda en Alemania. La liga más competitiva según IFFHS es la inglesa donde militan 2 paraguayos y jugadores importantes de la selección Roque Santa Cruz (Manchester City) y Paulo da Silva (Sunderland).

Paraguay has the 16th most competitive league in the world and its tournaments apparently are more competitive than countries such as Russia, Uruguay, Denmark and Colombia in between others. The most competitive league? The English Premier League in which 2 Paraguayans play. Roque Santa Cruz form Manchester United and Paulo da Silva from Sunderland.
